After a tour of duty with the U.S. Army Artillery, G. Hugh Bodell started his career as an accountant with Haskins and Sells, one of the international accounting firms that were then referred to as the Big Eight.
By 1979, he had progressed through a career in finance and the use of technology in financial management to the position of Chief Financial Officer of Citibank’s Visa and MasterCard business.
In the first half of the 1980s, he oversaw, as Chief Executive Officer, the growth of a $459 Million regional mortgage company to a $7.5 Billion Federal Mortgage Bank, one of the largest in the country at that time.
In 1985, he and his wife Susan, a computer scientist, founded a consulting firm specializing in technology-based solutions to processing and security issues in the Financial Services Industry. From 1985 through 2000, the firm serviced the largest financial organizations in the world, including, Barclays Bank, J.P. Mr. Bodell was engaged exclusively from 2001 to 2006 by the largest financial entity in the United Nations, the $41 Billion United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund. As architect and moving force, he oversaw a global technology change in how the organization moves information and money around the world.
Mr. Bodell has authored several technical and financial publications on behalf of clients over the past 20 years. In 2006 he began the process of reinventing himself as a mystery writer, concentrating on plots incorporating the world of diplomacy, large money and technology.
Treachery in Turtle Bay, his first achievement in the International Mystery Fiction genre was completed in early 2008. The plot integrates the $29.7 billion in missing UN Oil for Food program funds with murder, corruption and technology
Treachery In Turtle Bay II - Oil ~ Dollars ~ Diplomacy & The Sinister Three, the sequel to book 1 was completed in December 2008. It deals with the Oil industry, Iraq and the theft of $1 Billion/month in Iraqi Oil cash flow, which, by the way, exceeds $6 billion/Month.
Treachery In Turtle Bay III - Nukes ~ Dollars ~ Diplomacy & The Sinister One deals with the collapse of rule by law in the United States, Russian Nuclear Arms and the sale thereof to Iran for the purpose of power and revenge. This work is targeted for completion by the end of the third quarter 2010.
The threads connecting the books are an investigating couple Hugh and Anna Masterson, technology laced sleuthing, corruption, greed, murder and the United Nations.
